EGR Delete ?? For non turbo 2J
So i have a 2J NA and i got the CEL code 71 (EGR) and I have used the "search" feature but dont really have an answer yet. So what i want to do is delete my EGR since i plan i going turbo anyway why not?. So my question is for the guys that dont have turbos and have deleted their EGR what vacuum hoses if any did you guys keep. I dont want my idle going all crazy, I have a pretty good idea of how to take it out and put the block off plates. But I am just not sure about the vacuum line part. Again my car is an auto with no turbo and i want to delete my EGR what vac lines do i retain any input would be appreciated...

Its pretty easy. Locate the vacume lines and start removing stuff.Theres a canister under the intake manifold(VSV for EVAP)drivers side that can go too. The only hard thing is the steel lines and the EGR tube. When you disconnect it its hard to pull out.Anf the steel tubes that travel under the egr and over the starter are hard to reach.

LOL i thought it was a new thread,i guess VJZ revived it for you.
When you take the egr out,you will know which hoses need to be removed. Its impossible to walk you through because there are too many of them.
Better yet, when i finnish my car next week(lca bushings),i'l take a pic of the engine bay to make it easier for you.

Yes.
I would thoroughly enjoy being able to do this once I'm back on my feet.
I just got out of the hospital this morning.
Hopefully I can gather a ton of info and print some of this off so I can get going on it in a few weeks.
So, the more help the merrier I suppose.
Really I want to ditch the EGR and TRAC. What about TRAC?

I was in the hospital for a few various reasons. This weekend was an allergic reaction to a medication, and I have been MIA from my garage for the past week from tearing my ACL.

Hi this is VJZ's friend Bill.
I am trying to do something for him to cheer him up while he's in the hospital. This is now the third time he's had to go back in in about two weeks.
If anyone can get some really detailed information about how to do some of this stuff I'd be super grateful.
This would be better than just a card.

If you shoot me your email I'll send you the chapters from the service manual with all of the emissions stuff you can/will be deleting. It's got very in-depth descriptions and illustrations. I think there's like 2 or 3 vac lines left but all I can remember is that there's 1 for the FPR. I'll take a look at mine tomorrow and let you know.
