Supra 1jz down pipe
Would it at least bolt up to the soarer 1jz? Is there any difference in the engine from these applications?
We can fabricate a pipe to make it work, but I need something that at least bolts up.
Help!

I bought a 1jz downpipe from supra forums and it doesn't bolt up. It was a while back so I have no idea what exactly it was off of. They have a 1jz sell/buy section and that is where I got it from.
There is also a popular 1j dp always being sold on ebay that has the flex section. I bought that and it doesn't bolt up.
I guess I just assumed they both would. Now I am at a loss of where to go. The car is not mobile at the moment so I cannot take it anywhere. My mechanic said he can fab something in the shop but he wants something that bolts up so he has a starting point.
I don't know what to get. We've just been chipping away at the swap but it's near completion so I am getting motivated to get everything I need. If you guys have any for sure's I would definitely jump at it.

dang that sucks, i always figured they would bolt up, i figured the only fitment issue was the lower half of the dp, like you would have to get it modified to bolt up to your exhaust.. i almost bought one of those ebay ones too, luckily my 1jz swap already had a 3" dp on it when i picked it up from Jhot

If you swapped a 1jz into your sc
What did you use for a down pipe?
Where did you get it? How much did it cost?
Which supra dp will work for a 1j sc?
Does anyone have anything definitive?

Just goto a Exhaust shop and have them make one, easiest thing to do. The most you'll spend is 100 to get it done? And thats made & installed. Its the Front Pipe that I would order, that yields the most gains out of the engine.

i tryed a MKIV downpipe and it deffinitly does not fit! if your feeling like spending some money you can get teh apexi up pipe.
apexi up pipe 145 - T003-7H0917.
and do a cat back exhaust.
if it were me i wouldnt worry about it. i did a 4icnch mid pipe to 3 inch duals and my car put down easily 300 to the wheels. besides the Y pipe is the major restriction on the twins anyways.
