Very confused. which tranny?
So! i finally picked up a 93 sc4. not in the best condition but all it needed was a fuel pump for 1k. Im on the edge of my seat about ordering a 2jz but i dont know if i want to do a getrag conversion or stay automatic. My goal for this car after everything is said and done is to have a 600whp car. Having the stick gives more control over your gears and help to control traction issues but having the auto is the flip but you never stop spooling and your always in boost thru every gear. i would like a few of your guys input on this...help!?

what do you plan to do with the car. drag? track? daily?
it will all depend on that. for dragging the auto will be superior while for tracking a manual is a much better choice. i still say go manual...that is if you have the money for a getrag. if money is not an issue i would go that route.
good luck and keep us posted.

cost isnt really an issue, just trying to put the power to the ground the most efficient way possible. This wont be a track car, just a toy for the weekends or whenever i feel like taking it out. I do love my manual tranny but for simplicity i'd like the auto even if i have to build. Thanks for the input, going to spend the rest of this weekend thinking about it.

Its sad im still struggling with this decision so i've finally setteled on getting a 2jz TT auto swap, put that in the car first to see how i like it...i'll probably deliberately try to break the damn thing just so i can go manual. From what its looking like if i went with a 2jz TT 5spd manual swap or first went with the auto then to manual i'll be spending almost he same thing in parts. So why not double dip and taste the best of both worlds.
Thanks for the insight fellas. Look out for my swap thread in the next month or so, i already have the car..recouping funds to order the swap and other little things here and there.
