sc400 starting problem
i replaced the engine in a 92 sc400. i have everything on the harness hooked up, battery hooked up, everything ready to fire up, but when i turn the key the starter wont turn. it doesn't make a sound: no clicks, etc.
i am pretty sure i have everything hooked up correctly, but i'm wondering if maybe there's something related to the factory alarm that i've overlooked, like maybe i need to disarm it to get it to crank over.
i need this thing out of the garage!
any help would be appreciated.

Do all the lights come on? Have you verified the starter is connected properly. On the SC300 it is a tiny little plug on the bottom and easy to miss. I hope it is not that if you have already put your intake manifold back on as that is a PITA to get to again on the 1UZ.

yeah all the lights come on, the fuel pump primes when i have the key turned over, but the starter is just not doing anything. i'm about 90% sure the starter is correct. i hooked up the whole harness with the engine out of the car and the manifolds off and made sure all the plugs were connected before putting the manifolds on and dropping the engine in.
i'm just thinking that maybe i missed something that should be grounded to the chassis. i cant find the damn service manual for these cars on the internet, as it seems you have to buy the real shop manual for 100 bucks.

the one by the oil filter was it.
also, i didnt have the starter solenoid connected where it meets the harness on the drivers side.
it starts and runs now, but i have 3 open vacuum nipples that i don't know what to do with. do you know where i can get a vacuum diagram? other than that, this thing is good to go! i appreciate the help so far

How about looking at that large sticker on the underside of your hood?
