Default 2JZGTE 5 speed with twins owners

What rpm do you guys hit full boost at? I think im hitting full boost at around 6000 rpm, is that correct? 2nd turbo transition starts at 4800-5000 and 2nd is fully starting at 5000-5500.

that sounds correct, i think the 2nd twin starts around 4 grand and fool spool around 5-6 i can't remember it's been a while, i ditched the sequential and went to true twins on the 2jz-gte and r-154 i have on the 89 supra

I think I just need to learn the twins some more, I might not have been hitting boost properly because I was only downshifting to 4th. Havent tried from a stop or 2nd yet. I think since I have a 4.27 auto rear, im flying thru gears too quickly to stay in a good powerband.

Depends on what you mean by full boost... Mine is programmed for 18 PSI max, and hits that easily by 4000 RPM... you shouldn't have to go to redline to get boost

Yeah, Phil's right about that. I took a look my Dynopack dyno print out of my (pre-single) twins. I was at ~14psi by 3300 rpm and that pretty much held from there on the conservative tune I had at the time. If I set it for 18psi (I never did because of fuel issues), it looks like it would have happened by about 4800rpm. Should mention that full boost and max w.h.p. occur differently.

I found out later that I had a defective Greddy EBC unit it would not hold peak boost.

I don't know anyone who had the Greddy EBC that worked. I finally tossed mine out.

Wow, im defintely not hitting full boost at 4000. But, I dont think I was testing the twins out properly, I was thinking I should hit max boost when I floor it in 4th or 5th gear, but of course I was wrong.

Having a 4.27 rear end doesnt help either. I gotta install my 6 speed and 3.13 rear end ASAP.

I've taken it from a stop and hit my max psi quickly, so I guess I have to learn. Right now I have seafoam in the tank, so as soon as this tank is gone, back to testing. I'll keep you guys updated, thanks.

hmm, interesting, as the shop that did much of my work said they've had a number of issues with Greddy EBC's, specifically the control solenoid (after I had it installed and there were issues of holding boost). But I've not posted up about this because I was unclear if this is widespread. Greddy's are widely installed and I'd have thought I'd have know about this.

The Blitz EBC seems to be a better choice and I'm happy with it. If anyone needs a perfect Greddy EBC head unit (w/o solenoid) I've got one cheap.

What specific boost level do you get and when does it show up?? My max hp numbers occured well after boost showed up.

If turbos are set in true twin mode, I consistently get full spool by 4400 rpm on several cars.
