Did you cover anything up? Usually the fuse box is something that should be covered up prior to spraying the engine bay down along with intake.

Not this again. There should not be another "next time" for any informed member of this forum. Playing Russian Roulette with your engine not for me.

There ought to be a huge bold letter sign in the engine bay that screams at people:
Do not to spray water into the engine bay !.
This forum is loaded with identical stories. See the threads, search "washed engine" in the SC threads and weep. btw, "...letting it sit over night..." is not the remedy:

Here's a sampling found in matter of seconds:

a warning to all sc300 owners!!!

Washed my engin then....

My buddy sprayed off his SC's motor and now its misfiring. Cause?

power washed engine and now missing on 4 cyl's

SC300 engine idles strange

help! engine shuttering

Help!!! My SC might be damaged!!!

for the second time in a row, I washed my engine

Water in Intake Manifold Spark Plugs

Bad Engine Skip

Just washed engine bay, now car wont start

This topic should be stickied. It probably happens more than reported here. I for one can not phantom taking a garden hose and aiming it into my engine bay and thinking I am not going to screw something up. Would you aim a hose at your HDTV or stereo ? The engine bay probably got an equivalent amount of electronics going on in there, but what do I know ?

Key word there is "informed". If someone doesn't bother to do a search, what makes you think that same someone would bother to read through the stickies?

This forum also has threads about that. But if you want to type up another one for the newbs to ignore, go right ahead.

Point taken, they won't, so I guess they all got what they deserved. New threads on an old topic will continue until there are no more SC engine bays out there for newbies to power wash and hose down. I don't care if you've sealed everything in wax. It is incomprehensible to me.

Has nothing to do with the distributor. The plugs sit in wells that hold water when sprayed. Taking the plug cover(s) off wont reveal the water. By my last tally, this has happened to 5,763 members (that reported it).

You're not supposed to pressure wash you're engine bay, you're supposed to sand blast it, jeez I thought we all knew that

make that 5,764. When I got my car back from the repair shop, they "cleaned" it and it was only running only 4 cylinders. Luckily spark plug wire replacement solved it.
