1JZ CEL/MIL Wiring
Okay, this was never mentioned in the swap, and i'm guessing most people don't care to fix it, but i would greatly appreciate that little light because the Power FC uses it. . .
i believe i read Chino had fixed his during his swap, and someone posted here with no help
Also, all the pages of the swap issues, several people mention this issue, nobody posts the solution.
*CEL - Check Engine Light
*MIL - Malfunction Indicator Light
for anyone not into the abbreviations.

your check engine light is on? you might want to check what code it is throwing. mine was functional the hole time i had the 1jz in there. the light shouldnt be on unless theres something wrong..

no, other way around
my light doesn not work
i can't pull codes, or anything.
i checked the gauge bulb, it was fine
and i check the terminals required to pull codes, and they weren't find either, but since the check engine light is supposed to go straight from ecu to dash, something's not right there. . .

ConSynX,
I figured my CEL tonight since mine was not working. You will need to run a new wire directly from W port on the ECU I believe it the blue and yellow strip wire to the round diagnostic port inside the car, and hook up your wire to the W port on the diagnostic port.
Now to read the codes you will need to jump teh TE1 and E1 ports on the diagnostic port inside the engine bay, and then you should be able to see the CEL .
Re-Cap
1. Splice "W" B-Y wire on the ECU
2. Run new wire to round diagnostic port inside car
3. Splice the "W" wire B-Y also but with silver marks also
4. Put key on teh "ON" position you will see all the lights light up including the CEL
5. Jump Pins in engine bay to read codes

well, that's one way to do it
thank you very much!
i'm guessin the trouble comes from a different ecu pin out.
if someone knows which pin to change, that would be much easier, and i would greatly appreciate the info.
otherwise i guess i'm stuck routing a new wire?
