Default question on 5 speed trannys.

if i got a 1jz with 5spd.. and i want a 6spd.... does the 6spd bellhousings bolts on or swap the 5spd bellhousing?

v160 bolts right up. u will need a custom drive shaft though. and other lil things.

clutch, flywheel, slave cyl, 6speed diff or else ull tear up ur stock one.

There is a bit more to it than might at first appear.... To confirm other postings: You will need a different clutch and T/O bearing as indicated, the stock Lexus 5-speed uses a totally different design. Then, as mentioned, the rear axle ratio on the lexus will NOT be compatible with the Getrag, so you will need to replace the rear end with a Supra unit. In addition, the drive shaft length will need to be shortened to fit. Unfortunately, I do not believe a supra driveshaft will do the trick.

Finally, I understand that a bit of metal work (read: BIG sledge hammer) is necessary on the tranny tunnel to make adequate clearance for the Getrag.
