W55/W58/NA MkIV Supra Clutch and Flywheel
So I've got about 120k on my IS300, and it's starting to feel like time for a clutch. While I'm in there I would like to lighten up the flywheel, but most of the aftermarket flywheels seem lighter than I really want considering this will be an aggressively driven DD that sees the track maybe 4-5 times a year tops. After some research I think the combo I really want is just an OEM replacement clutch and flywheel for a MkIV NA Supra. Half the weight of the dual mass that's in the car now so she can spin a little easier, but hopefully it should still be fairly easy to drive around town.
Here's the question. I have read a lot of conflicting information on this subject. I have read I will need an extension for the slave cylinder, while I have also read that the measurements are the same and that it is basically a direct bolt on. I will not be the one doing the work, so I would like to gather as much solid info before she is cracked open. Hopefully someone is running a MkIV NA Supra clutch and flywheel in their W55 2JZ-GE that can give me a direct answer. As soon as I know, she'll be going under the knife.
Thanks for any help, and please comment and suggest away.

I've been planning on doing that exact upgrade/replacement when my clutch goes.

I so want to drive to Ohio and give you a huge hug. I mean like the biggest hug. If my girlfriend weren't so awesome I'd even consider letting you take her for a test drive.
Seriously, if you ever need a favor, I'm indebted.

I just had this done to my '04 IS300. I found the thread on my.is and called around a bunch of shops before I found one that was willing to substitute non-standard parts, but they did the research themselves when I told them about the idea and went ahead and did it for me.
It's been about a week and the clutch works great so far. The lighter weight flywheel spins down faster, so I've had to adjust my rev-matching technique on the 1-2 upshift some, but otherwise no complaints. Highly recommended to save maybe $1300-1400 on the flywheel.
