TRAC light

Also I believe anytime you get a Check engine light, your TRAC is automatically disabled.

Thanks for your help, as far as the traction control switch is concerned, when I pushed it, there is another light, TRAC CTR OFF (I believe its says) turned on and vise versa.
I don't understand why there are 2 lights on the dash for traction control, one says TRAC and other Traction cont off.

I would search if i were you. I had this problem a while back. Let me ask does your TRAC light pop up everytime you turn the car on? Check the cables under the hood, make sure they are all connected. I would have it when my TRAC light would pop up once in a while when i start my car, and then one day it stopped and my TRAC worked, i didnt do anything and it just stopped popping up by itself.

The TRAC OFF is in the bottom left of the gauge cluster (this is the light controlled by the button on your shifter), indicates that your traction control is disengaged and will not operate. The TRAC light you see must be the one inside the speedometer, this is the light that normally illuminates when your traction control engages after it detects wheelspin. I'm not sure why that light would ever be on constantly.

bought my car new 12 years ago....my lite went on about 3 years ago and I have tried everything and been to every expert. It is detecting a problem with the system and so the lite goes on and thus indicates a malfunction and disables the system. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM???? If the "Trac Off" lite goes on first, that is an emisions issue which automatically disables Traction contronl. That is not our problem.

I'd check all the rubber lines in the engine bay especially the lines coming from the canisters below the brake booster. I believe they store fluid for the trac system. Make sure there's no leaks or anything.
I know this suggestion might be off but try bleeding your brakes. That might solve the problem. I haven't tried it as I disconnected the trac ecu.

trac light solution
There is an accumulator next to the master cylinder ,should be some yellow tape on it cautioning about contents under high pressure, use a small piece of vacum hose on the bleeder nipple to avoid brake fluid squirting all over your engine compartment, with engine running bleed all the air from system , the trac light should go out. I followed these instructions from my buddy at Cherry Hill Lexus and the light does not come back on.They also stated the high pressure hose that runs beside the accumalator gets soft and clogs up the unit.

I got a high pitched whirring noise whenever I start the car for about 10 seconds then the sounds stops and the TRAC light comes on 3 seconds later. It sounds like the gerotor on the pump is either loose on the motors shaft or its pumping something up and its not registering the pressure, but the second scenario sounds improbable as everyone would hear it when starting. I v already bled the high pressure accumulator to find that its not high pressure at all. So pump rotor may be the cause.
