Default excessive fan noise -- help

So i started my car today and drove out of my parking space and when the RPM's got to 2k a fan i never heard before turned on. So i started revving to see what was causing this or maybe what it is. I'm not sure as to what this could be but a buddy said it might be the clutch fan turning on or something. My clutch is going out so i maybe its slightly engaged. I dont kno but i do know that the fan is LOUD and gets faster as the RPM's go up. Please give me some insight folks. I'm goin to Texas today after work so im not able to take it to a shop or anything (im not driving there)
and would like to fix it when i get back and replace my clutch. Thanks

I think the fan motor went out on mine this morning. took off at a light, then right about 2k rpms is when the noise started.

Did you have a loud noise even at idle? (sounding like the fan blades are violently hitting something)

Also, the fan moves at idle still though, so im not 100% sure thats what it is...

If anyone can answer this...please do.

thanks

you need to change the clutch in your fan they last for a while but can die after a long period of time
