Opinions needed on purchased motor
I'm about to start my 2jz-gte swap and just purchased a motor off ebay cause it was a good price and sold by Jhot, which has a good reputation from searching various forums. I haven't paid for or received the engine. I plan on tearing it down to clean, install MHG/studs, new cams, convert to single, etc but wanted to get the general opinion of everyone here. What do you think? From outward appearances, the engine looks clean to me.

that looks very clean, whats the mileage? year of car engine is from? and who yanked it?
my experience with buying engines: the areas most prone to problem are the oil pan and lower block. since that what they always sit it on, and it gets knocked around sometimes. make sure a reputable place pulled it and not just some junkyard. junkyard have a tendency to just cut off everything and yank it out, rather than properly disconnected all the lines/wiring.
but it looks like it was done well, everything is taped up, thats usually a good sign.

is it a front mount or rear mount oil pan?
when figuring out if the GTE came out of an Aristo or a Supra, the BOV is usually a give-away, but I can't really tell from that picture... appears that you've got an aristo 2JZ-GTE
Also, what are the compression numbers on it? Did it come with a tag or anything?
