I'm working for 15 years in the car industry however I'm not brave enough to do an engine swap on a gs450h ... what I would do (here in Belgium) is just buy a full running GS450h in the UK, as they are RHD they can't sell them to the rest of Europe, that makes prices very low for a GS450h over there. It's cheaper, plus you get a ton of other spares that you can keep or sell ... as you probably noticed Lexus parts don't come cheap It's also an excellent way of getting the know the car inside out.

Made a dumb mistake and the engine block is done, aluminum inside the oil filter and oil pan. Anyway, swapping for the same engine is my only choice and the cheapest route. How much do they normally cost to do engine swaps at the shop? and do dealers do it too or no? Ok thanks ibidu1 for the site, I found one for my car but how does one know if it still works or has aluminum inside like mine?> lol is it just risk?

That site lists big salvage yards, most yards test the motors and give warranty before selling. Also dont be shy to negotiate a lower price with the salvage yard.

If you purchase from say LKQ they have several engines all over US and they send freight all over. Their pretty good with the parts they sell and to me have been reliable

Usually if they know it's hard to find, price isn't going to budge. Ibidu's right, it doesn't hurt to ask anyways though.

I used to pay ~$300 to do engine swaps. That's a crackhead deal though and it was because the person was my friend. Most places charge between $700-$1500.

I am unsure though, how that would work with a Hybrid.

Do you mind if I ask what stupid thing you did to have your car end up the way it did?
