Defintely not as cheap as pre-VVTi SC's, but if done right it is superior.

The VVT-i is a pain in the *** to work with due to the electronics and options are limited, but attainable with knowledgable tuners. The internals are weak compared to pre-VVTi SC's, but the block is the same. It would be wise to swap in a GTE shortblock, get a Boost Logic or Sound Performance kit and have them do the magic with the AEM.
