save for stage 2 BL kit or make my own turbo kit
i was thinking of doing my own turbo kit, just getting parts as i go. or should i just save for the BL stage 2 kit? im looking for around 400hp. im starting to think i might end up spending the same amount on HG, manifold, injectors and stuff like that. what do you guys think?

The Boost Logic kit is really nice and they are some cool guys working there. I visited their facility...very cool stuff . But it sounds to me like the Boost Logic kit is out of your price range. For that reason, I'd recommend the daveH kit. I'm using the daveH kit and the manifold seems virtually indestructable..I'm VERY happy with it overall. If your not planning to go above 500rwhp, then the daveH kit seems an even better bang/buck for your needs.

Having gotten a basic DaveH kit, and then pieced together everything else, if I were to do it again, I'd just buy a BL kit. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally happy with the DaveH kit, but it's just so much more work to find everything, and in my case, I ended up buying cheaper stuff to justify the piecing together of my own kit. I think if I bought everything equivolent to the BL kit, I'd spend about the same amount.

P.S. When you're all done, I'd love to meet you at Sears Point for some Wednesday night fun. They should be right in your neighborhood.

How about getting the following from DaveH:
DaveH Manifold
T61 turbo
downpipe
midpipe
tial 38mm wastegate
wastegate dump tube
oil lines (feed and return)
walbro fuel pump
and buy a BoostLogic FMIC.
You'll save about $1,000 this way (when compared to buying a BL kit altogether).
Or, you could save some more $$ by buying a nice IC and doing the piping yourself. I've read nothing but good things about both DaveH and BoostLogic- they're quality is great, and both products seem to work well.
