1JZ Auto Swap Into 5-Speed - Wiring Issues?
I recently picked up a '95 SC300 5-speed, and absolutely love it! Only thing is, my other car is a '93 RX-7 with over 400 at the wheels (Half-bridge port, Haltech E6K, T66) and I want a little more "oomph" out of the Lexus. I'm planning on going with a Soarer front clip, which is an auto 1JZ. I plan on going with a Haltech E8 in a few months but in the meantime I'd like to run the stock ECU.
Will there be any wiring issues or ECU issues by using the auto ECU with the 5-speed setup? My 7 was originally an auto and it took a lot of work to get the auto ECU in that car to work with the absence of the auto tranny ECU...I'm not sure how the SC does it, I'm assuming that there's a seperate ECU for the auto tranny, but it its removed will it throw trouble codes or go into limp mode?
If there's any threads or posts that explain this, please point me in the right direction as my searches didn't come up with a good discussion of this. Thanks for any help you all can provide.
