Default How many people here have S-AFC in their car?

S-AFC sounds like a cheap way to get more HP.
I do have my exhaust and the BFI done already.

I think my car is running a litle rich. When I floor it, after i few runs. It feels like the car starts to slow down a bit and hisitate from the start.

I think S-AFC could help fix that problem. What do you guys think?

I heard that term before but Im not sure what "HEatsoaked" means exactly.
Engine is getting hot or transmission maybe?

Yesterday I raced a 1999 Audi 8 all wheel drive.
First race up to 100mph we were even, he slightly pulled on me(maybe a few feet)
Second run, way different. My car was not as responsive and he pulled by a car lengh.

well as the engine gets hotter, performance decreases.. thats why if u ever see anyone race at a dragstrip, most fast cars u see the owners sitting on the side for 30-60mins after every run, even icebags on the engine. Other then that i dunno

Is the SAF-C a cheaper alternative to a piggyback like e-manage?? Besides controlling A/F ratio's what else does it do? Is this also compatible with a turbo? Thanks.

Well I don't know if it is cheap.. It would cost around $250 for the unit plus instalation plus Dyno tunning is needed. Maybe around $500 or so I think.
I think It controls the Air/Fuel mixture only.. Somone correct me if Im wrong.

the safc is a form of piggy back like the emanage, just not as many features. it only controlls air/fuel at rpm increments under either a high or low throttle setting. you can use it on a turbo'd car and is very easy to install with only 8 wires or less. with minor mods you can street tune the vehicle yourself and not do too much damage as long as you dont go crazy with adding or removing large %'s of fuel.

Im surprised that not that many Lexus owners have this mod. Seems very easy to install and promises good gains for the money.

I have a SAFCII in my glove box. Now I just have to wire it up haha

My car was very rich with just K&N filter and cut open intake box. 11.0:1 SAFC will help even with a couple small bolt ons.

I have the AFC and I think it runs just fine in my car. The AFC and other air fuel control units are only really good if you have a signifigant change (increase) in the air portion of your mixture (ie forced induction).

Other than that, if you are running a NA car, it is almost useless.

HAve you had it on a Dyno before and after the install. Who tuned the unit for you?

Are you running S-afc 1 or 2?
