Best sounding exhaust?
Okay guys, I have a sc400 92' And i am preparing to fix the body completely and have it as a dailydriver. Now in my opinion (and i know alot of guys will back me up on this one) that the G35 exhaust is one of the bst sounding exhaust systems in the market. Well i dont know anyone with a sc400 and was looking to buy a muffler set up (Borla, Dynomax, Flowmasters, and etc.). I dont have enough money for a cat back but it wont matter because i DONT want a turbo back sound. Trust me i know how it sounds, i am a previous owner of a sr20det. But i want a nice crisp clean "G35" sound. a almost luxuary sound. Would anyone have these by anychance and would post feedback please.

You could always try taking out the "Y" pipe, and center resonator, if a non-california car.
This and adding a crossover, or "X" type crossover along with the separate lengths of pipe will give a sporty, mellow sound while cruising, and excellerating.
It's very cheap to do, and uses the factory mufflers, resonators which are a straight thru design like aftermarket mufflers.
Do a search, maybe you will find a sound clip.

Thats my car's Rod Millen Motorsport.... VERY deep and clean sound and not too loud. I think the Magnaflows are a little junky sounding personally but we're all different! Rod Millen is the best out there in my opinion.... couldnt be happier! I'm hard to please too. Good luck! oh and the mic on my camera makes it sound a little fuzzy/scratchy.... not the exhaust

To me, an SC400 running stock mufflers with no resonators sounds very G35'ish. Without resonators, the SC400 exhaust tone sounds a lot more hollow. LiveSC400 put up a great clip a while back.
You may be able to fine it if you search for "true dual exhaust". Hope this helps.

Is everyone here missing that fact that you're comparing the exhaust note of a 4.0 liter V8 vs a 3.5 liter V6. Both cars have very different sounding exhaust notes!
To the original poster, if you really want your car to sound like a G35, sell the SC4 and pick up a SC3. The V8 will never sound like a 6!

Rod Millen Motorsport with no resonators sounds the most like a G35(I have them ) couple of my friends have said so... It's on a 95' SC400(didnt read if you have a 300 or 400) but if you have a 300 I'm guessing it would sound liek a G35 as well(you could try it with resonators and see what you think). PM me if you wanna hear a sound clip of my exhaust.
