OBDI tuning questions
I used to be OBDII. Well with OBDII, the ECU will take over fuel settings in closed loop (under 4000rpm). So at idle, no matter what you set on the SAFC, the ECU will override it to maintain a 14.7 a/f.
I just recently converted to OBDI (20 mins ago ). I have 550cc injectors and an MKIII 550cc chip so it should go perfectly, however idle is a little weird. It splutters and my exhaust is blowing out COOL air?? Like it idles and then bursts of cool air keeps coming out continously.
1. Anyways... let's say I richen up idle to get a 12:1 a/f. Will the ECU try to override and lean it back out to 14.7, or will it maintain the 12:1 that I set with the SAFC? I'm not sure how OBDI ECU works.
2. Also under wot, I can tune under 4000rpm right? Because with OBDII, you can't tune it until the ECU goes to open loop (which is normally after 4k).
Appreciate any comments opinions
