Default ECU override...

I always here of the ECU re-learning back to factory A/F ratios and specs after a certain amount of time. I also heard that if you get an A/F controller like the SAFC II that eventually the adjusted A/F numbers will be superceded by ...once again the ECU. If this holds true then how doesn't the SRT piggyback ECU A/F adjustments get overridden by the stock ECU??? Is this a more permanent fixing of A/F ratios than what an SAFC II can provide? Thanks for the advise...

If you tune within an "allowable" range then it will be ok. A mild/slight tune is ok and the ecu won't fight back. It's when you start dumping a ton of fuel in when you are boosted that the ECU will throw a fit.

So, which in your opinion could/would yield greater results...SRT intake w/ecu or any other intake with a tuned SAFC II?

SAFC, because it can be adjusted to what ever other mods you are running. SRT comes prertuned, so you are stuck with one setting of A/F ratio.

It's also the VVT-i that is doing this, and adjusting the fuel ratio according to how you drive over a couple hundred miles.

Oddly enough...my SRT intake and ECU causes a CEL every now and then. I reset the computer twice...then just left it alone. It goes back off eventually after a few days and resumes normal operation. BUT...I do have 84,000 on original plugs and such...so I am sure a fresh plug install would help there. Hasnt come back on for a while now. Usually comes on when I drive the car as opposed to my lady, who drives it daily. I drive a supercharged 05 Acura TL instead cause I couldnt get her out of the damn Lexus when it came time for us to get another car and her relinquish it to me as originally planned.

Be advised that just because the CEL goes away it does not mean that your car is still not having underlying issues. I had the same thing once going on with my car regarding A/F readings and eventhough the light went away it still popped lean codes when my mechanic ran diagnostics.
