supra TT 6 spd for SC300 AT
as a new owner of a 92 sc300 AT, I am thinking of converting the transmission to a 6spd but keeping the original engine as is..
-will the getrag 6 spd transmission work with the 2jz-ge engine?
-if feasible, I'd like to change the odometer to a manual one as well, anyone familiar with this?
any suggestion is appreciated!!

you can change the tranny and keep the motor, but it would be a waste of about $4000 unless you have lots of power. and you can change the cluster out with a manual one as well... as long as its from the same year range. yea can search and find the answers very quicky for future refferences oh, and welcome

If you don't plan on turbocharging the car but want a manual in there, you may want to consider swapping in a 5spd, much more cost effective...unless you'd rather sell the car and start searching for an SC with a stick, though nice ones are pretty scant these days...

Thanks
Thanks for the info..
to get budget under control (initially at least), I will start with the tranny first and then save up for the TT conversion... good approach?

6spd TT tranny (which year is best fit?)
As I was reading the info provided in Intellexual, there seems to be some dimension changes between certain years (92~94 vs 95 ~98?) of the Supra TT transmission, some hammering on the tunnel required if post 95 trannys are used?
Not sure if I am interpreting the info correctly, as I will be locating this tranny from Japan and for sure the newer the better, so, help from anyone with a clear insight to this is appreciated!
