Who has/had a 2JZGTE on the SC 5spd tranny
This is what Im wanting to do, It would help out alot if I could talk to some people who have done it before, so I can know what to expect this summer when I start the project.

The W58
My SC300 5sp goes in for the 2jzgte on Monday.
For what its worth, I have researched this quite a bit and concluded that our 5sp W58 tranny in good condition can hold in the range of low to mid-400 hp before you blow it. A stock 2jzgte going to be fine in the SC300. Its the BPU and BPU ++ that can put it in jeaprody in a hurry, depending on what your HP build goal is and how your drive it.
You can drastically alter the w58 life by how hard you drive/beat on it (read drag racing, hard launches, high RPM dump clutch is going to send your w58 to the junkyard).
That is the take I have on it, no experience yet, that will change soon enough.

: "Q) How much power can the factory 5 speed manual transmission hold ?
A) Also debatable .. depends on a lot of factors (current condition of tranny, maintenance, how hard you "beat" on it, how often you "power shift," how often you race, etc). Most people agree that 400-500rwhp is pushing the limits of the factory 5 speed transmission, however, some have broken them with as little was 350rwhp, and some people have exceeded 500rwhp."

I think there is some kind of book or manual floating around out there that has a detailed installation guide and wiring diagrams for the swap...I still havent been able to find it.
Q: is the auto tranny in the SC300 the same as the auto tranny in the 2JZGTE Supras?
