Latest pictures of the teardown.
Guys,
Well, as everyone knows - this weekend started the teardown. I went to pick up the engine on Friday and was hit with torrential rain - not a great start!
We started on Saturday morning working on the old engine. It has 70k on it, but the salvage yard were idiots and took a cutting tool to it to remove it. So, instead of unclipping wires, we had to pull the throttle body off, intake manifold, yada yada yada to remove all of the wiring. A real pain in the ***.
Then, just as my luck would have it, there was no plug on the wiring harness. So, out came the carpet, glovebox, ECU, ABS computer, and we had to thread them all through the firewall. Another pain in the ***!!
Then, pulling the old engine took quite some time. Because we needed so much of it we couldn't just pull it apart. Had to unclip everything and take off the clamps very carefully. Out came the radiator, condensor, and basically everything from inside the engine bay. Then the whole exhaust, drivetrain, heat shield etc etc etc.!!
Then came Sunday and its hangover!!
So we got the engine joist up and got the engine and tranny pulled this morning. Then, we removed the bellhousing to switch out the torque convertor.
By this stage we were both tired and hungry ( and I needed Bourbon!!) so we called it a night. Here are pics thus far.
Peace,
Jonny

Thx for the support guys,
I am getting ready to head back out. Just been to the stealer - $7 for 1" studs!! I am in the wrong business!!
So now I have all of my new gaskets ready to be replaced.
To gut the cats or no? What do u think?? We don't have inspections or emmissions tests here in OK so no worries about that. What u think?
