why does everything think having extra gears = adding gears on the top end....
blows my mind people not knowing how final drive and gearing works. why don't we all go back to 4-speeds then, so much torque bla bla bla
more gears done correctly is always better, only penalty being drive-terrain loss and weight.
Just as an example my M3 was 7-DCT twin clutch and it only has a higher redline speed of 3mph at 208mph over the 6-MT 205mph with a much lower final drive.
Ive said it before, the NX would be much better with a 8-speed AT, not for the extra MPG because it won't really gain any, but it'll drive around town much better. The 6-speed is slugglish and shifts are more rough than the 8-speed in the RC and RX. The lexus 8-speed does hunt for gears a bit too much but I'll still take that over having 2 less cogs. Lexus should just cave and get with the program and use the zf-8 speed from the new 7-ers.

Not until September early October.
Don't look for to many changes. Lexus is very slow to make big changes especially a total new car like the NX. You will probably see some small things like more sound deadening material, and acoustical side glass to quiet the interior sound which has been a complaint with most owners. Different OEM tires. The base car Yokohama's are very noisy. If you are looking for an 8 speed auto, forget it. Again, minor changes only if any.

Just curious, did the salesman state what the increase was ? I'm surprised that dealers are getting 2017 NX's as normally Toyota/Lexus does a press release prior to the new models coming out advising of prices, changes, etc.

No he did not. A little background - I was there getting ready to buy the 2016 NX. It was AWD fully loaded except the triple led lights. The price came out to be a little over $46k. They went down to $44k. Then I decided to wait for 2017. He told me the new one was $1,200 more. I didn't ask why/for what because we'd decided to buy the 2017 RX.

So I stopped by during lunch and he took me to the back (where new cars came in and are waiting for cleaning) turned out his buying agent made a mistake and it was an 2016 not 2017. They said November they will have both 2017 NX & RX. Sorry guys.
