Default Sick and tired of my shift **** wearing out.

So, I am literally on my 3rd shift **** and the leather is starting to wear a lot again, always the thin too ring where it meets the wood. Do you guys experience this too? Without even knowing I must rest my hand on it while driving and as the months and years pass, you got wear. I do NOT like any all wood ***** and I do NOT like any of the aluminum sportknobs; to racecar-ish for the GS imho. Is there something we can do to refurbish these oem ***** after they wear out? Ecept for this the **** is in 100% condition...it's a damn shame.

The only **** that I might consider is the round metal one from the IS300; anyone know if this one fits the 2GS?

Stop fondling it. (That's what she said.)

Or...

Your technique is all wrong. Grab it differently. (That's what she... nevermind)
My 11yo shifter w/104k mi still looks great.

You see this sometimes on steering wheels too.

There's a spectrum of how sweaty different people's hands get and also a spectrum of how acidic their perspiration is. I've known people with sweaty hands that would wear out the leather on their steering wheels/shift ***** quite quickly.

I agree, my leather **** is warn around the wood on the top and it seems like they all are, it's even worse in a manual since you are fondling it even more. Maybe if the oem made if out of thicker or stronger leather it would be better

It's like my sportdesign **** (same as the sc430 ****) I wet sanded it lightly and re cleared it with 3 coats of clear.

I also put interior detail cleaner w/ 30 SPF and UV protectant. It really helps if your car is constantly left in the sun.
