looking to buy nx200t, some questions
I'm helping my folks buy a nx200t. They are older folks, and don't necessarily want the Premium package (heated / ventilated seats, moonroof, 18" wheels). They also do not want Navigation.
2 questions:
1) do they even make Lexus models without moon roof? I thought moon roof (and the premium package) would be standard on all units (especially the nx200t?) in the US?
2) the nx200t will have a back-up camera standard...but if my folks opt to not get the navigation, what will the LCD display look like? Will it be a significantly down-graded version from the Navigation LCD screen?
We were at the dealer and found a nx200t without navi (at another dealer far way - so no way to visually see it), but it also had no power rear gate... which is a no-go because my folks are older and don't want to mess with the gate manually.
I'm shocked Lexus even makes a nx200t without the power gate option...the option is only $400...it should be baked in standard for the car...
EDIT: I also have questions about pricing - so far it looks the best we can do is MSRP... even on 12/30 or 12/31 (end of year), because it's so new. Has anyone done better than MSRP?

I have seen a base model without moonroof and Nav but didn't have power rear door either. My guess is you'll have to special order.
Screen resolution will be the same with or without Nav I think.

Thanks Husker4the... that must be a rare mythical beast. I imagine Lexus makes most of the profit off the packages and add-on's... so 99% of the models must have the moon-roof.
Special order may take 2-3 months, we were told.
I'm not sure it's worth buying a special order model without moonroof, as resale could be less? My folks though insist they down't want the heated / ventilated seats, moon roof, and 18" wheels... but they could be in for a long wait for a special order.

I test drove a base model, but didn't mess with the controls because it was not what I'd order. If the screen is different it is not obvious, I'll at least say that. In place of the touchpad there is a dial to go through the screen menus. It sort of looks like a simpler version of Audi mmi, and I think is the same thing other Lexus vehicles use of you don't get navigation.
I also doubt you'll find a base nx with power lift gate easily, if at all

Thanks for the info... special order it is, I guess, unless my folks change their minds on the premium package.
Anyone get any better price than MSRP?

You say your folks are older folks. The older we get the faster time flies. Three months to them will seem like three days. At least that's the way it is for me. Excellent choice of car for your folks.

Thanks for the affirmation. My mother can wait...my dad, not so much. They're in a huge disagreement about what to do...

Probably because they don't want the sunroof's mechanicals or electronics to fail when there's a storm coming up. Today's power sun/moonroofs are generally pretty reliable, but, for some people, they are still a hard sell....especially since you no longer get an emergency hand-crank with them like you did years ago.
