Is Just Brakes being fair on price for this work?
I have a 99 GS 300 which needed the following work:
-Right lower ball joint_____ ______________________$160
-Remove and replace F control arm (lower one)_______$294
-Outer Tie rod end right__________________________$60
-Remove & Replace Tie Rod & ends (outer)__________$84
-Standard Alignment____________________________$79.95
Total :_________________$ 733.99
( I wrote the above as Just Brakes had it on quote)
Is this expensive for what needs to be done or pretty standard?
Thanks for any info. Gotta fix it anyways

those are all incredibly simple items to replace. even if your not a wrench turner, you could save a lot of money doing it your self. than once all the parts are replaced take it in for an alignment. but I guarantee you just brakes which by the way is a horrible company, is going to use the cheapest parts they can buy to maximize their profits leaving your car in worse shape than it is now. all those parts bolt in and you could do it with a simple tool set and a sledge hammer to bust the tie rods out of the lower ball joints. buy the parts from rock auto.com and atleast use moog if not original Toyota parts. watch some videos on youtube to get an idea. you'll save hundreds.

...what part of Texas are you located in ?? I'm with badblack thinking you could purchase the items yourself and probably do the work also. If you're in the Dfw area, I have a mechanic friend that does work on my Sc when I can't handle it & he's pretty reasonable. I'm probably about to undergo doing some of that same work to my Sc, sometime after Christamas

RE: to thread 'Is Just Brakes being fair on price for this work?'
yea, I am in DFW. North Dallas.
I found someone to get it done and on both sides of the car, instead of just the right side.
Thanks

You trust Just Brakes to sit in your car, let alone work on it? As was stated, those are all fairly simple procedures that can be done with basic mechanical skills. And Just Brakes is not a particularly reputable company, similar to Jiffy Lube, and I wouldn't trust them to open my car door.

You can even eliminate the tedious step of cleaning out the old bushing by buying a replacement arm with bushings.
