Default looking at an OLD RX.....

Hi, first post, though I signed up a year and a half ago! I'm looking for a first car for my daughter, and was surprised to find an RX300 show up in my (LOW) price range. 1999 Lexus RX 300 Base for $4,999 with 172,061miles. Is there anyone on this forum that can look up the VIN JT6HF10U7X0043813 and see dealer service records? How about just some general advice about what to be looking for on a car with that many miles??

Once you create an account, you can enter the VIN of your RX300 and see any and all service done at a Lexus dealer!

I took a look through the service history, and see no mention of timing belt replacement. At 170k miles, it's almost ready for it's second timing belt change.

hey, thanks for the replies! I hadn't seen them till now cuz I seem to be set up for "weekly notification," which I've got to figure out how to change.

I bought it from a used car lot run by a bunch of Russian/Ukranian immigrants, and both the salesman and the mechanic stated that the engine had been replaced (with one with about 98,000 miles). The mechanic told me that timing belt and water pump were replaced at that time.

The one I just bought still had all the goodies. (owner's manual, wallet key along with the cardholder that has the chip and key code, leather case)
