Default 2000 Gs 300 Serpentine Belt help

I replaced the cam seals/ timing belt, tensioner/ water pump/ valve cover seals. Now I get to the last step of puttiing the new belt on and I can't get it on. I compared to the old one and they are exact. I even tried to reinstall the old belt. I have pushed the tensioner all the back and it has bottomed out. Are there any other adjustments that I may have missed. Help please. Spent a entire day replacing all these parts and I am lacking one step. Thanks,

the hydraulic tensioner can't be installed in the engine - you have to first run the timing belt, then bolt in the hydraulic tensioner... this will tighten the belt noticeably... I usually spin the motor 360 or 720 degrees at this point to make sure everything is lined up properly... then remove the grenade pin from the tensioner, good to go...

So you got everything else installed etc except for the drive belt/serpentine belt? I have encountered this issue before but not sure if it may be the same with yours but the problem I had was the whole serpentine belt tensioner assembly was no good, although I was able to loosen it a bit but still not enough to route the belt around all the pulley. So went and bought the whole assembly, swap it out and belt went right on

You are not talking timing belt, but Serpentine drive belt, right?

Yah, I just re read the title, was thinking timing belt not serpentine belt... which should go on easily so long as it is routed properly...
