2006 GS300 purring sound when accelerating
So I just started hearing this "purring" sound when my car accelerates, was definitely not there before and its not the clicking sound from the injectors. The sound is like when a Spanish speaker rolls the "R" with their tongue. It seems the A/C also makes the sound come up but always there when accelerating as well.
My car had the 90k service a few months ago and it wasn't making the sound then and they told me I needed to replace spark plugs and timing belt, but no hurry, could do it at next service. The sound came to my attention a few weeks ago.
Also, I see no special service lights on my dash.

Yes. I drove the LFA.

Well, first off, the 2006 GS300 does not have a timing belt. It is chain driven.
As far as the noise goes, I would check out the water pump. It is a pretty common area of failure on these engines. Turning the AC on may add extra load to the belt, causing the noise to pop up. With the engine off, and cold, you can reach down and try to "rock" the water pump pulley back and forth to check for movement. If it moves, id start there.
