Hey Guys,

I am having a bit of a problem that I hope the really smart people on this forum can help me with .

I recently had a backup camera and rearview mirror with LCD installed in my ct200h. The equipment is as follows:

The problem that I am having is that a good amount of the time, when I start the car, the backup image will do one of the following things:

1) Not show up at all
2) Becomes red with lines in it
3) The screen is fully white

Generally what I've noticed is that this happens when it is pretty cold outside (cold for california, about 50F). When the car is in the garage, it has always worked fine, but when I've had it parked outside for the entire day, one of the above three will show up. An interesting thing to note is that the rearview mirror has a green light on it that is always on. Usually when the backup camera fails to turn on, the light on the rearview mirror will blink. Once it has stopped blinking, if I put the car in reverse the backup image will show up again.

I thought the problem might be that the connection between the backup camera and the rearview mirror is loose. So I took it back to the installer and he checked the connection. He said it was loose and that it should work better now. It worked ok for about 2 weeks, and now it has gotten worse.

I was wondering if you guys might have an idea of what could possibly be wrong. Do I need to replace the backup camera with a different one? Is that the problem? or is there a chance that something else is wrong?
