Default Door lock not working?

Hey everyone, I forgot if I posted this before or if anyone's posted about this, but my driver's side door lock is completely whacked out. It no longer responds to any type of remote or car locking action. I have to lock/unlock my front driver's side with either my key or my fingers inside.

Any explanation for this? I think it's the door lock actuatorthat's shredded. I called my local Lexus dealership around me and it is expen$ive!!!! I'm 30 miles away from 60K, but the electrical warranty is out at 50K, right?

Help me, please! Thanks.

It might be the relay that toggles the actuator, or maybe the actuators are individually fused? See if you can find the relay/fuses for the doors, and swap them with the passengers door. I'm taking a stab at cheaper things here because I don't have a maintenance manual.

Mine is having a similar problem.Besides the remote entry not working anymore, the rear passenger door in order to be locked, has to have the handle pulled up from the outside, then the locked switched inside.

Taken the door panel off, messed with the mechanics, can't figure it out.

Funny all of the sudden my passenger door does not respond to my key..only way to open it up is from the inside ...is this something possibly electrical in which some of you already implied or this is strictly mechanicial...

can this be covered under lexus warranty...

I do have an aftermarket alarm....

Thanks for the replies. I don't think the warranty is covered anymore unless you have it CPO 100K.

I'll check on the fuses, mumbles. Thanks for the tip.

If not, I guess we're all out of luck!

Default Very common

Very common GS's.
Either the door lock ECU in the door or most likely the entire lock actuator/assembly. The courtesy light switch is also part of the assembly. About 275.00 for just the part. Labor is a little pain but can be done in a 1/2 hour for those with experience.

Bad battery contact in your transponder key?

My transponder key has a new battery and even so it's kinda flaky. Some days it just doesn't work at all, other days it's fine. I dunno. Humidity or barometer pressure or some darn thing.

it has happend to me too.
My passenger door for no reason will not lock with the remote or the door lock controls. It looks like something is loose because when I lock or unlock, it move but not enough to lock the door or unlock it.

oh well time to set aside a day to take the door apart and look through the manual to see what could be wrong.

when it rains it pours!!! need to get the timing belts changed, the tires replace, alignment, new wheel to replace a broken one, etc., etc., etc.

maybe I can buy some speakers while I have the door apart to upgrade them
