ac problem after compressor replacement.
So tonight I swapped out my ac compressor and dryer because the old compressor was sounding awful and stopped working. Got a reman unit that works great when I'm not moving but when I'm moving it shuts off and the AC light starts to blink. It blows strong and ice cold until I get going. Then, it stops.
The unit that I removed had what appeared to be some kind of temp sensor that was a two bolt flange on the bottom but the new one didn't have it. Anyone know what exactly it is? Could it be my problem? The system was lubricated and charged right after I installed it.
Any suggestions? Anyone experienced this issue? I'll be back at the shop in the am, just figured i'd post up in case it could help me get a head start in the morning.
Thanks in advance.
Marti

First thing I would do is hook up the gauges and see what they read. If a system is overcharged, it will not cool in the same manner as being undercharged. Since there's no load when not moving the compressor is rotating at a lower rpm. Once you get moving that extra rpm may cause over pressurization of the entire system.

so the new compressor I got didn't have the provision for PN: 88336-24020. I can't find anything about it besides just saying "compressor sensor" everything else on the new compressor is exactly the same except for that. Anyone know what that is? Is there a bypass for it?

here is a pic of the sensor location on the compressor that came off of the car.
the new compressor was PERFECT but didn't have this. Anyone know what it is exactly? As i mentioned, the part number for the sensor that goes in there is 88336-24020.

Couple things - Although a possibility, I'm not sure that is your problem...
I would bet that you have too much refrigerant in the system.
Secondly, did you evacuate and pull a vacuum to get all of the moisture out of the original system? If not, you can expect that system to last a very short time.
Have you put gauges on the system to at least see what pressures are? Need pressures at idle and at 2000 RPM to give you an idea of what is going on...

Curious if you ever came to a conclusion on the ac speed sensor? I picked up a new compressor that is also missing this sensor and has been vacuumed and re-charged already
Thx!
