Default Headgasket ?

Hello guys,

Im am putting an SP63 on my NA Supra and I was actually curious as about my headgasket. As we all know i need a 3mm headgaket to lower my compression. Well when i talked to a reputable tuner they told me that they heard of Toyomoto actually stacking two twin turbo headgaskets to achieve this 8.5:1 compression ratio. Since many of you lexus guys have parts through toyomoto can any of you tell me if you know if this is the case and if so how has it worked out for you? Im really curious on this topic. Also when and if you installed it did you use any type of sealer on the headgaskets when you combined them or anything? If any one has any idea please email me at brett_turbo@hotmail.com or ill periodically try to check back here and see if anyone has posted.

Thanks,

I will not recommend using 3mm because it is way too thick. I put a 2.0mm on my 89 7M engine and I loss a lot of torque. I think you should only need 1.2mm or max would be 2.0mm. You don’t need any sealer for metal head gasket at all according to metal head gasket instructions. It has multi layers, so you probably need better head bolts to prevent future leak and damage.
