Is it time to replace my air filter?

Is it time to replace my air filter?
Wondering how often everyone replaces their air filter. Do you go by mileage, by how dirty it is, or other factors? The following pic is the condition of the current filter on my car. It has been in there for a little over a year and has about 11k miles on it. So is it time to replace?

Its not really by miles driven, but avg there supposed to go is about 15k which is why dealers change them out at at 15k service.
But I believe driving conditions are more important to look at. If its dusty and dirty with leaves and what not, its time to be replaced. Just pick up a fram air filter from Autozone and pop it in there.

Id replace that filter... and i would highly suggest against getting an off the shelf fram or similar filter from an auto parts store. They are not made as good as OEM filters, and dont always fit as well as OEM filters. Get an OEM filter from one of our forum sponsors, you will save money, and get the proper filter for your car.

Cool thanks for the input guys. I was mainly wondering how dirty you let your filter get before replacing them. I'll probably just pick one up at the toyota/lexus dealer after the road construction ends around here in a few weeks. I believe the part number is 17801-07020 for the 92-00 SC in case anyone is wondering.

I suggest replacing annually unless you live in a real real dusty area.

My thoughts exactly... the funny thing is, MAP (Motorist Assurance Program) is the only real attempt to regulate vehicle repairs, and even the book there says that unless it is damaged letting unfiltered air through, or dirty enough to cause a performance issue, then replacement is neither required or suggested, and to use the manufacturers scheduled maintenance intervals to determine replacement schedule...
