Is there an easy way to do this? No offense to my neighbors ..but this is serious Ford/Chevy country....not a whole lot of high end options close by. How would I go about finding an independent mechanic? I'm sure the dealership is not going to share this with me.

If I was new to an area, or in transit, I would study the yellow pages first under auto repair. Next , google search you local area for auto repair.

Make some calls, visit a few establishments, look at the shop.

Ask your friends ...

Again no offense to my neighbors...but most mechanics around here are going to tell me they are qualified to work on my lexus and put bandaides on the problem only for me to end up taking it to the dealer in the end and paying higher to fix what they messed up...it has happened. I will try to ask around. thanks
