Default Check Engine Light

Its happened 4 times in past two months. Each time I disconnect battery negative for ten minutes and light goes away. then comes back on in a week or two.. Car has been regularly serviced and runs fine. Its a 300 es 1998 with 70k. Help!!

Your check engine light continues to come on because there is a problem that your ECU has detected. Yes, you can erase the code by removing the battery cable or by removing the EFI fuse under the hood. You will have to get the trouble code pulled to find out what is wrong.

Check your air filter. My K&N gave me a check engine light all the way up to the Texas border. Was letting in to much air.
