new 2013 Land Cruiser or 2011 LX570 CPO
Looking to make a purchase - comparing a new 2013 Land Cruiser at $14k of MSRP or a 2011 LX570 CPO with 26k miles for $62k. I've owned several Land Cruisers but never owned a Lexus. In the 2013 Land Cruiser, it looks like the gap may have been closed a little, but the Lexus still has more comfort, luxury, and prestige. The price difference is negligible, but each has its merits. Any opinions?

2011 LX, you know why? Presitge, and comfort. You won't regret the upgrade. Rides like a dream, drives like a dream ,and the material used in the LX are more upscale than those used in the LC. Just my .2 cents, rest is up to you. If you do end up buying the LX, post pics!

I just went through this.
If you are dead set on the large one, I'd say get the LC. The 2013 LC has xenons, no air suspension, PCS, Dynamic Cruise Control, and the same DVD player as was available on the 2011 LX. Never mind every other option you could want. If you get the sandstone interior, the wood is real, right out of Lexus stock. The black interior on the LC has the same faux wood that it has had since 2008. The 2011 LX does not have the facelift and has halogens and air suspension, Rear DVD player, PCS and Dynamic Cruise Control was an option, not standard. If you keep the LX long term out of warranty, the air suspension will bite you.
I was attempting to wait for the wholesale prices of the 13LXs to fall. I too priced a 2013 LC and was able to effect a $67200 purchase price for a black with sandstone with 43 miles on it. After seeing the 14 GX in person though, we ended up ordering one and await its arrival in December.
The LC certainly isn't as pretty outside as the LX. However you will own it brand new with minimal depreciation, and you know where it's been. Also, the regular vs. premium is a nice additive. Not that either of these vehicles are bought seeking good gas mileage.
My $.02 worth since you asked,

This is a no brainer, take the LC as it is new and has pretty much every feature as the 11 LX. I think some of the materials in the LC are actually better. They are also more rare as well.

I just looked at a new 2013 LC - initial asking price was 71K. In checking out the vehicle closely - the wife said no thanks - she preferred our 2009 570 based upon the upgrades and added features - to include the power tailgate, front end lowering when you shut off the vehicle, wheels, etc. Leather and finishes seemed cheaper looking in the LC. It was also missing the front end lowering option. It seemed that the LX was nicer all around.

Thanks for all your replies. In the end, I pulled the trigger on a 2013 LX that was discounted from $92k down to $80,500. Looking forward to many fun years in this beast.

Thanks for the info. I do need to take pics - but the rain has been pretty consistent since I got it. The wife got a 2013 GX today and absolutely loves it.
