Hi All,

I should preface by saying I'm no gearhead but I'm trying to figure out an issue my wife is having w/ her 2000 LX470. The check engine light is on and upon pressing the brake, the reverse light on the dash lights up no matter what gear she may be in at the time (despite this, the car drives fine btw). I came across a post from someone in another model Lexus w/ same problems and they traced it to the ground wire in their trunk which was loose/partially severed and creating electrical issues.

My question is, where would the ground wire be on the 2000 LX470? Perhaps in the rear window that opens upward? Seeing as how our car will occassionally clear itself of this issue, makes me think there is a short somewhere on the ground wire and i would like to investigate. Thanks for any help, seems like a great place for advice!
