2003 LX 470 Rear camera/XM mod
Has anybody done AVIC 100 install on their LX's for rear camera and A/V input to the . How did it work out? What camera did you use? What other parts do you need for the XM mod? How do you like it?
I know...a ton of questions but trying to do it right.
Thanks

Here is the Gen 4 in the MY 2004 LX470 with the BT and rear camera.... IMO, it is much better and worth upgrading to an 04 model...

Isn't the '02-'03 a gen 3 and the '04+ a gen 4?I have the factory manuals for the '03 including the electrical manual. Anyways, the upgrade to the next gen (I would guess) would involve a software change, so that would require a complete NAV-ECU replacement...$$$$. My hunch is the only software difference is some firmware to communicate w/ the camera and the interface (and to tie that in with the reverse signal from the tranny), but that is still a software upgrade, meaning full replacement of the ECU's.

Mine said Gen-2 (Sept 2002 release) before I upgraded to the 2005 DVD version. My truck was built April 2003, so its just under 3 yrs old and still had a Gen-2 Nav. I dunno which '03s were Gen-3 tho'...
