How many miles?
I was just curious who had the most miles on their LX470. I have a 99 and I have 125,000 miles on it whithout any major problems. I am however due to have all four accumulators replaced because they are shot. I was just curious as to what to expect in the future as far as maintaince is concerned with this vehicle.

1996 LX450 with 192,000 miles - no major problems - exhaust leak (the oxygen sensors became detached), front wheel bearings replaced, rear a/c coolant line corroded - so I had it capped off at the motor.
1998 LX470 with 148,000 miles - no problems.
1998 LX470 with 148,000 miles - no problems.

98 LX470 with 80,000 miles...
HAD: (no particular order since I don't rememeber the chronological right now [have records though])
1] Tellascopic(?) steering column squeaked... fixed and adjusted twice [warranty]
2] Driver-side (rear view) mirror replaced because it couldn't return to driver setting after reversing... most likely electrical issue [warranty]
3] Rattling noise from underneath the car... often at early morning idle or after the car have been sitting for a while... turns out to be loose heat shield. Happened twice, but easily tighten. [warranty]
4] Driver-side glass clamp decided to all of a sudden break. The glass was sitting off aligned on the door... glass clamp was replaced. [warranty]
5] 6 Disk CD Changer had problems playing CDs... mostly CDRs. It was displaying *disk errors* frequently... radio was completely replaced. [warranty]
...hmm.. what else...
x] velcro on the straps that hold the foldup rear 3rd-row seats are ripped, so the seats are not too secured. Probably due to excessive pressure from the weight of the seats. Anyone with this problem? All in all though, Lexus service have been excellent! Some items were actually a bit out of warranty and my local (Lexus of Westminster) went ahead and took care of me.
ps... took my Porsche in for regular maintenance at Newport Auto... their service is CRAP! Day and night compared to Lexus.

I have had almost all of the same problems as you have had. The velcro on mine did not rip but it has lost all of its ability to hold the seat s secure. The heat shield also ratteled but i had it rewelded. The CD player has been replaced twice amd the steering wheel also squeaked. The mirrors have been fine so far but i believe that I may have the starter issue because the car has a problem starting, but only on a very rare basis. It mey gtet worse and require some attention.

Hi, sorry to dig up a old post. We have a 98 with about 160,000 miles and after reading some of the posts about a bouncy ride (what I have) it seems we need to replace the accumulators on the rear.
You stated buying the accum. what were your symptoms? What reference did you use to troubleshoot your problem?
Thanks for your time, Dan

The shocks do not return to normal as quickly as before when you hit a bump. The slightest road imperfection makes the truck bounce up and down continously. The dealer will be able to tell you quickly if this is needed.
