Default Second row leg room?

I've been trying to find a definitive answer on this: For the 2013 to 2015 LX570s, second row rear leg room is listed at 34.4 inches. That is shocking bad for a vehicle this size. Does anyone know if that spec is quoted with the second row seats fully slid forward?

I haven't measured it but in my 2014 I would have to say not only is it disappointing but downright pitiful in a vehicle of this caliber for the driver(me) to have move the seat closer to the steering wheel just so a normal person can have any decent leg room in the second row seating.

If I had been a little more astute when I bought this vehicle, the second row seat issue, difficult removal of 3rd row seat and increase in plastic in the cabin may have been a deal breaker. Along with the decrease leather in the cabin and increase in plastic Lexus has taken a back seat (no pun intended) to their competitors.

Lexus quality better come up a bunch in this 2016 model and the redesign in 2019 or whenever.

I appreciate your feedback, Dave. Are your comments based on the 2nd row seats moved all the way back? Also, how tall are you? Thanks,

From what I can tell, the 2016 model addresses the interior quality complaints, but as the capacity specs have not changed, I can only assume leg room remains the same as the 2013-2015 model years.

I'd think to get the best numbers, that the 2nd row seat is in the rearmost position when the measurement was taken.

Funny you should mention that...

I and wife did a walk-around / sit-down in a 2011 LX a week ago...I'm afraid I didn't see any notable differences in the quality of the interior v. the '01 LX I've owned for the past 6 years..

I've had the 13" LX and now 14" GX, to me the LX just look big from the outside, but inside the headroom, legroom are seem shorter than the GX, for exemple i installed the infant car seat in both LX and GX, and everytime my babe head hit the roof of the LX but not in the GX, and the legroom i feel more leg space in the GX than LX, i dont know why, but i feel that way, because i used to own the LX and now GX

On Thursday night we took my wife's birthday cake to our bible study so I wanted to put it in on the floorboard in front of the second row seat. With my driver's seat in the easy exit position I opened the passenger door and could not get the standard cake box ( 8 " cake) in to the floorboard without sliding the driver seat forward. Geez!

I did measure this morning and with the second row all the way back and the driver seat in the driving position there is 9 1/2 inches of knee space. The driver's seat goes back 2 inches on the easy exit feature so if the driver gets out and someone says in the second row behind the driver their knee space just dropped to 7 1/2.

All this takes into account the driver size of course. I am 6' 3" but still have had to get used to driving closer the steering wheel than usual just so my 5' 4" inch wife will have enough knee room when she happens to ride in the second row behind me.

As mentioned before, I used to own an '03 LX and even though there are improvements, in my opinion there are not 10-11 model years of improvement in the vehicle.

I am not having buyers remorse, and have been driving Lexus vehicles for the last 20+ years, but if they don't do something to this vehicle in the next 5 years, I will not buy another LX. I usually drive my vehicles for at least 10 years but may not hang on to this one that long.

Looks like 2016 made some changes to the middle row... 36" vs 34.4" and It's also 2 inches longer (199.4" vs 197") and wider:
