Default LX 470 Seat adjustment

Given my height, I need the additional legroom which the LX470 lacks making it very uncomfortable to drive. My question is, can some modification be done to the base of the LX seats so that they can be positioned about 5 to 7 inches farther away from the steering wheel ? I havent had a chance to look at the base of the seats, but would it be possible to take out the base of the seat rails and weld them back on the body farther away ?
any suggestions would be helpful.
thnx.

The seat is bolted to the floor with 4 bolts, one at each corner. The rail itself, it contured to the floor pan, so it fits it perfectly. Im sure it would be possible, with some fabrication of course, to drill new holes in the floor and remount the seat. It would take quite a bit of work, and probably isnt worth it. Good luck though...
