When turning engine off...
why does it shut off radio before you open door? Can this be programmed so that when u turn engine off, radio stays on till driver door is opened? My wives Audi does this and is great for waiting at bank drive-up, or picking up someone. Thanks for the reply...

To have that function, you have to drive cars other than Japanese made. I know American make still have radio on until you open the door. Just turn the acc on

Because when you turn off your engine you should be leaving the car LOL
Get American car and the audio will stay on until your battery is drain and open the door
I don't remember any JP model car that will leave the audio on after shutting of the engine
Just leave the ignition on if you going to wait for long time

Bugs the hell out of me.
This is a poor design. German cars give you 10 minutes of Audio. BMW even more, it keep playing the audio until you hit the power button a second time or you lock the door, or 10 minutes, whichever comes first.
But there is a horrible workaround in Lexus:
- Keep car in gear
- Turn off engine
- Shift into park
Audio will stay on.
The problem with the horrible work around is that you cannot lock the doors unless you hit the power button TWO MORE TIMES!!!
Like I have said in other threads, this car is all about risk management for the weakest link in the chain, and assumes drivers are stupid, incompetent, and ready to sue, to the point of absurd. American cars shut off the radio with 5-10 minute timers.

My MB leaves the radio on after I shut off the engine. Goes off after I open the door.
I don't think any Asian vehicles leave the radio on after engine is shut off.
All you got to do is press the start engine one more time WITHOUT pressing on the brake to go to ACC mode. When you are ready to turn on the engine, just press the brake and then hit the start engine button to START the engine.
