What discount can I get on a 2010?
I currently have a 2005 LX470 with 104,000 miles. I am thinking of upgrading and would like any advice on the discount I can get on a new 2010 msrp $86000. Thanks

Unlike last year with the '09s, since the '10s were introduced earlier last year than the '11s this year, there seem to be plenty (relatively speaking) of 2010 LXs out there. I'm not sure about your specific area, but generally speaking, there seems to be quite a bit of supply (again, relatively) based on the daily emails I still get from Autotrader. This is the exact opposite of what it was when we bought ours.
I would certainly aim for close to invoice, but don't get your hopes up that it will fly (though I hope it does ). My guess is that if you pull off anything better than $2.5-3k over invoice, particularly on an LX like the one you're looking for with the Luxury Package, you will have done very well.
You may want to get a sense of what a 2011 would cost you before estimating how much better a 2010 model would be. FWIW, late last December, we were at an initial offer of 4k over invoice on a new 2010 LX (no leftover 2009s available) with a screwing on our trade-in to the tune of about $2k, so that was really closer to $6k over invoice (initially) with the trade adjusted.
Not being in the business and not knowing the inventory and demand situation in your area, I could be totally off here. Overall, though, even though there seems to be more supply than a year ago when we started our search, demand is still strong for these beasts, so keep that in mind.
Finally, it is unclear whether there are enough 2011s in inventory for dealers to want to "purge" their inventory of 2010s and give amazing deals. In essence, given the usual supply/demand imbalance with the LX570, I'm not sure the standard rules would apply in full force. A 2010 will definitely cost you less if 2011s are present, but possibly not a lot less, since if you don't buy the 2010, someone else likely will - maybe even close to MSRP.
Of course, you won't know if you don't try, so best of luck!

Edit: Went to Edmunds to look at what (if anything) extra incentives there might be on a 2010, and this is what I found. The $1,000 (not applicable to a trade of your LX470) is available for both 2010 and 2011.

Go to Park Place Texas.com, Check out their 2 Lexus stores (Plano & Grapevine, TX). You can drill down to their new LX inventory. They had 5 2010 and 5 2011s when I traded there last week. I bought a 2011, traded a 2009 LX. The 11 has a cool box which I think is worthless. The difference I paid made the 29,000 miles I put on my 2009 LX cost me 46 cents per mile. I had an 06 LX470 and drove it for only 42 cents per mile, but it wasn't near the truck these LX570s are! Between the LX470 & 09 LX570, I drove a LS460 for 19,700 miles and it cost me 1.15 per mile, so I'm sticking with the LXs in the future.

It is remarkable how these things hold their value.
Congratulations, Sid. Don't know if I've shared this before, but that's the color I really wanted, except Lexus wasn't making any non-special-order ones at the time in that color, so our true choices were black, white and silver. It's a beautiful truck!
Cool box has come in handy for my son's milk. Otherwise, it would be nice to have some storage in there.
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.
