2003 LX470 No AC or Heat Blowing
My wife calls me this morning to say that our beloved LX has no heat or AC blowing from any of the front vents. However, the rear AC is working just fine. Got any ideas of what the problem would be?
Thanks,

Htony: There is no noise coming from the front air vents. I set it to full speed, both with the AC set to ON and then just the fans, zilch - nothing. Where is the fuse to this? I checked under the hood last night and opened the large fuse box on the driver's side, but couldn't tell if it was one of those in there (the labels on the underside of the lid didn't specify something like "Front AC" or "Front Vent").

I just replaced my blower motor a few weeks ago. Sometimes it wouldn't move but if I smacked it, it would start spinning. I needed a "jump start" and it kind of gave me a heads up so I could replace it before it completely failed. Super easy to replace. Three screws and one connector. It's right under the glove box. Try the smack technique.

I'm throwing in the towel and taking the LX into the shop tomorrow. I'll update this thread as to what was the cause. As always, thanks for everyone's input, much appreciated.

UPDATE: Turns out the blower motor and regulator failed. I had both of them replaced and it ran me $720.46 ($238 labor & $482.46 parts). While the LX was in the shop, the engine valve covers were found to be leaking oil and I had those replaced, too, along with the cover gaskets and spark plugs for $825.40 ($595 labor & $230.40 parts). Bummer, but I have to give our LX credit for having 199K miles on it now it's really been a relatively trouble-free vehicle.
