I assume that "no volume control" means that you have no sound through the speakers. But, the door open warning chime still is working.

Failure of the Levinson amplifier can cause this. I believe on your vehicle it is located under the passenger seat. It can be damaged by rain from a window left open, or from a spill of a drink. Levinson and Lexus have an agreement that prohibits Lexus dealers from repairing the amplifier, so a dealer can only sell you a new one. Cost will be over $1,000.

However, for those with some mechanical skills, the seat can be unbolted (does not need to be completely removed or disconnected from its wiring) and rocked up for access. The amp can be easily unplugged and removed. You can have it repaired and replace it yourself. The repair of mine for my LX570 cost about $600.

Or, you can look for a used and working unit to plug in. I just did a google search "Lexus LX470 Levinson amplifier" and on the first page of results saw many Club Lexus threads with all the info you to do this yourself. On ebay there is a repair service for $365, and a number of used units for less.
