Overriding NAV lockout in 2002 LX470 (tried everything, looked everywhere)
Hello,
I have a 2002 Lexus LX470 with the standard GPS navigation system. As I'm sure you're all aware, when the car is in motion the GPS will lock down so that no destinations or other options can be used, which is a major annoyance especially when a passenger is trying to use it. I've seen all kinds of instructions and directions for how to override the GPS Navigation lock in various Lexus vehicles but I have found none that would work with what I've got, which is the 2002 LX470.
For example, in many models there is a very handy and easy code that allows you to unlock it, as is shown in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfFKPE4SHYQ
Unfortunately, mine is not set up the same way so this method does not work.
Then I've found instructions for earlier models, that usually look like the ones from this page: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums...hp/t25024.html
Unfortunately I have no "DVD button" so I can't use this method either. I've googled up and down trying to find a solution but so far I've found nothing that would work for my '02 LX470. Can anyone here help me out and let me know if there's any way to override it with my vehicle? It would be MUCH appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
P.S.
This is not a picture from my vehicle, but is one I found of the navigation system in another 2002 LX470...this should give you an idea of the buttons and features I have in mine as well as the ones that I do not.

First press Menu
The "DVD button"" must be press (no "System button")
Press on the screen: Up Left, Down left, Up left, Down left, then Down right
And then, the "Override button" must be pressed for 5 sec

I also have a 2002 LX470 and it works for me. I use the same method as the guy with the GS430 2001 in your second Link. No DVD is mentioned.
"Press the menu button, then choose system option. Then press the top left of the screen, then the bottom left of the screen, then the top left again, then the bottom left again, then finally touch the bottom right of the screen. It will bring up a system menu. Choose the override button, then hit back."
Keep trying it this way and it will work.
