Getting repaired
Greetings. I've mentioned that my LS460 had something going on with the back right panel and the back passenger door. All this started because I noticed these pitted looking scratches along the edge of the door. I was told immediately the back panel had been repaired . . . and badly.
I spoke with the dealer and they send me money to cover what I thought was going to be half the repair. However, this morning when I took the car in, a few things were noticed. There wasn't a trim piece and that felt type material up in the wheel well was ruined and needed to be replaced.
While the cost was minimal and of course I'm having it all done right, I tried to contact the dealer I bought it from and asked them to front the entire bill. Haven't heard anything yet.
What I'm having done is properly repair the back panel, repair the "scratches" on the door, repaint properly the back, the door and all the way across the top of two doors on the trim part that apparently wasn't done, replace the trim and under mount material, and then a full car detail with a buffing etc.
I'm pretty excited to get this done and the car detailed. Will just make the car that much better. Oh, and they figured out what is believe to have happened. The tire blew at high speeds and caused the damage from the inside wheel well. Well that's the thought from this company I'm using. I'm sticking with that story.
Should have the car back either Thursday or Friday!

Why would the previous dealer pay for it? Did they hide the fact that body work had previously been done?
Good luck, it should look awesome when it's done.

I believe they knew something. They offered me some repair money pretty quick. But needless to say I'm glad to get it taken care of. Can't wait to get it back. Thanks.
