Is it possible to replace a failed air suspension in a 07 LWB with the standard shocks/system?
Has anyone on the forum actually done this that can provide some details. Appreciate the insight.
Yes you can easily do so but you may run into an issue with a light on the dash. It might be possible to gut the harness from the air suspension and plug it in.
I believe I seen a vendor on the internet long ago with all of the assembled struts with springs for $1000 for those that wanted to do the conversion.
If I had bought a car with air suspension and one of the units went bad down the road I would have sold the remaining good ones and used that money to finance regular suspension.
KYB is the oem manufacturer. Check out Rockauto. You will need your springs and mounts and some bolts for the mounts. I'm sure others who have done the conversation can chime in. Coilovers are also an option. If you leave your height sensors in place, adjusted properly, and just kill power to the compressor you should not have any warning lights on your dash / confusion with the air suspension computer. Or just swap out a good used unit.
